St. Augustine Florida Destination Wedding

Becoming a St. Augustine, Florida Destination Wedding Photographer was not something I ever imagined would happen. Especially for my little dream of a small business that I began in rural Ohio.  When we met Katelin and Robbie, I completely melted from their love story and was dying to photograph their wedding day. Soon you will see why.

Literally the most adorable and romantic love story…

Their love story began when Katelin was only in the 8th grade.  Katelin and Robbie met at a 3 day folk festival. They had an instant connection with each other.  Although they lived in separate cities and attended different schools, their relationship developed throughout high school across the distance.  Katelin and Robbie wrote letters to each other back and forth.  This deepened their love for one another in one of the most romantic ways.  Katelin still has many of Robbie’s love letters and shared them with me on their wedding day.

When Tim and I connected with these two, I was instantly in love with their story.  I couldn’t wait to document the next chapter of their lives on their wedding day as a St. Augustine Florida Destination Wedding Photographer.  Here is one thing you need to know about me: there are few things I love more than love stories and Spanish moss!

They couldn’t have had a more beautiful wedding day

Katelin and Robbie were married at Princess Place Preserve.  They had a waterfront backdrop and were married beneath gorgeous live oak trees adorned in Spanish moss.  It was the most picturesque wedding day anyone could have imagined and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.  They said their vows surrounded by the most supportive group of family and friends.  Later Katelin and Robbie headed back into St. Augustine for the party of their lives!

For the reception, Katelin and Robbie booked The Red Elvises, the most crazy and fun band of all time!  (We even loved them so much that Tim immediately downloaded all of their music for our drive back home). It was the most rockin’ party we have ever shot and the energy was through the roof!

We still haven’t captured an evening more fun than partying with Katelin and Robbie at their wedding reception.  Please feel free to challenge us!

We hope that you enjoy a small peek into their gorgeous and fun wedding day in St. Augustine Florida!  Also, after you share in the joy of their wedding day, I have included Katelin’s review at the end.  We truly love our couples and getting to document their once in a lifetime love stories.

“Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful Arika and Tim of Emerald Anchor Photography are, but I am going to try. I found Arika while looking at photographer pages on Instagram. The rich colors and the true joy and passion she captures in her subjects really stood out to me. It just so happened that she was having a wedding session giveaway and, much to my shock, we were selected. The incredible process of working with Emerald Anchor Photography began. I did have some concerns working with photographers from many states away (they are based in Ohio and we live in Florida), but my fears were completely unfounded.

From the very first email, Arika and Tim were much more than just photographers.

They took the time to set up video conferences throughout the process and were always very responsive to our emails and texts. Despite never having met in person, I felt that they took an honest, personal interest in us as a couple, and it felt more like working with friends than strangers. Our time spent getting to know each other through the video conferences, emails, and texts helped Arika and Tim tailor our photography experience to truly capture what it meant to be us on our special day.

In addition to guiding us through the photography experience, they helped guide us through the entire wedding. I was doing the planning myself and was completely lost until Arika and Tim took the time to talk us through a typical wedding day. They even provided us with several sample timelines that we were able to pull from and modify to create our own. This was hugely helpful, and I owe the seamlessness of the day to them. They began their time in Florida with us doing a short test session, so we could get comfortable with each other and adjust to working together. We did this instead of an engagement shoot, although they were exceedingly accommodating and willing to travel to make that happen for us too. Unfortunately my crazy schedule did not allow it.

The phrase “above and beyond” is no cliché for Arika and Tim!

They were with us from getting ready at the start of our wedding day all the way through the very end of our night. I was worried that it might feel forced or strange having people constantly snapping pictures of us all day, but they integrated themselves into the process in a way that was very natural. When we received our pictures, which happened significantly faster than I expected, we were floored by the results!

Each photo radiates joy and love.

There is a stunning blend of exquisite portraits and vibrant, candid pictures that exude the emotions of the day. The colors are spectacular.

I would recommend Arika and Tim of Emerald Anchor Photography to everyone, everywhere. Don’t let location discourage you from booking this incredible team. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but pictures that somehow capture the buzzing elation you feel while celebrating your love in marriage are absolutely priceless.” -Katelin and Robbie
