Three Generations of Love

Cait and Thomas had the most incredible wedding day with three generations of love and many other personalized details throughout.  Cait’s wedding dress was passed down from her grandmother, to her mother, and now to her. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I have had the opportunity to capture as a wedding photographer.  There were so many meaningful details that I was in heaven.  Capturing wedding day details is one of my favorite things to do.  I am so eager to share their wedding day as well as their story with you.

their love story

When we first met  Cait and Thomas, I fell completely in love with them and their love story!  They met when they were 3 years old at their local library’s story time.  It was just way too precious to me!

Here is a direct quote from Cait from when we first began getting to know each other!

“Thomas and I have been dating since high school. We actually met at Story Time at our local library when we were about 3 years old, and went to school together starting in elementary school. We weren’t quite “elementary school sweethearts” because I talked too much and Thomas thought I was annoying. He still thinks I talk too much, but he’s come around to liking it (I think)! We are from a really small town in rural Georgia and became friends at Ila Elementary (home of the Ila Gator, if you were wondering). We’ve now been together for years and it is so nice having a soul mate who knows every part of you and has grown (literally) with you. Thomas is a digital archivist at the University of Georgia, and I’m finishing law school there next year. We’re hoping to move to NYC, LA, or Atlanta after I graduate in May 2020.”

I fell in love with Cait’s humor immediately and couldn’t wait to meet them in person.

their wedding day

Cait and Thomas had the most beautiful wedding day at Variety Works in Madison, Georgia! This venue is part of the James Madison Inn, a luxurious historical hotel right next door.  They were gorgeous venues and Cait was an even more beautiful bride! Cait’s wedding dress was modified with her own special touches to make it uniquely hers.  However, remember when you look at the pictures that it is the same dress that both her mother and grandmother wore as well! Thomas designed and illustrated their wedding invitations himself featuring hand drawn flowers from their wedding day. The floral arrangements were stunning and done by a very talented family friend who also happened to be the librarian where they met! All of the vendors were absolutely wonderful to work with and it was the perfect wedding day for these love birds!

“We could not be happier with Emerald Anchor Photography!

Arika and Tim are so nice, helpful, and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. We will be proud to show these off forever.

Before the wedding, they took a lot of time to get to know us. We had a long google hangout between us and the couple just to get acquainted and discuss the game plan. Arika was so communicative throughout the process and made us feel so at ease. Arika sent us several timelines to work off of based on previous weddings they had shot, and our wedding coordinator said that the outline we gave her based on this recommendation was the most detailed she’d ever started with. Although we didn’t have an engagement session (totally because of us, not Emerald Anchor), Arika and Tim drove in early all the way from OH to GA in order to have time to take a few shots before our rehearsal.

We immediately felt at ease with the team. They are so easy-going and give directions that are easy to follow. We had never taken professional pictures before, but their directions made it so easy.

They stayed for our ENTIRE wedding, and it was so nice not to worry about getting the exit in before the photographers left.

We never felt rushed, and both Arika and Tim really make sure that the photos are looking good quickly before moving on so that everyone is happy with the end product. They were so great throughout the entire process, and worked well with huge family photos, couple shots, and even

five little flower girls (seriously, Arika got six kids under 8 to look in one picture, which is a miracle in itself)!

So many family members and friends have continued to tell me how friendly and helpful our photographers were for weeks after the wedding, and that was before seeing the photos!

We got our “sneak peak” yesterday, which included EIGHTY amazing photos! The photos are perfectly edited and look amazing. We cannot wait to see the full gallery because we were so thrilled with the first taste. Arika and Tim are absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend them enough for your wedding photography experience.”
