Intimate Outdoor Ohio Wedding | Ronnie + Jessie

I recently had the opportunity to photograph some sweet moments at Ronnie and Jessie’s intimate outdoor Ohio wedding. This spring wedding landed on the truly perfect day. In Ohio our weather can change in an instant. Some days you could feel like you need to wear long underwear and earmuffs and by the afternoon you might have the air conditioning on full-blast! Ronnie and Jessie’s wedding day was beautiful and had the perfect weather. It was one of the warmest spring days and the rain was pouring all around Mount Vernon but we never saw much more than a drop.
Seriously such a beautiful day!
Their wedding took place on Jessie’s grandparents’ property in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The location is incredibly meaningful to her, having spent many years falling in love with it. Also, her grandparents are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the chance to meet and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place for Ronnie and Jessie to tie the knot. While taking these pictures, I tried to tie in the beautiful details from her grandmother’s garden and beautiful pine trees while also keeping the focus on their love.
My favorite detail from their wedding was her grandmother’s bible.
It has been read through again and again, it is weathered and worn and even some of the most read pages are falling out but it couldn’t be more beautiful.
This bible is the one beneath the rings in a few of those shots and was also used by her grandmother during their wedding ceremony as she spoke over the newly married couple. It is beautiful to see faith that has stood the test of time be handed down to a new couple to hold onto as they bravely face the future together.
Make sure to see Jessie’s grandparents dancing at her reception at the end of the blog post. They have been married for 57 years and are still in love! How beautiful is that?!
