Ohio State University Engagement Photography
My time photographing Katie and Jared for their engagement pictures was a complete blast! Their engagement session was centered entirely around their time together at The Ohio State University where they first fell in love.
You know a couple’s love for each other is only rivaled by their love for the Buckeyes when even their sweet pup’s name is Archie.
As a fellow OSU alumni, horse lover and dog momma, I knew that I would absolutely LOVE working with Katie and Jared. I am so excited to share our adventure with you and hope that you love their Ohio State University Engagement Photography session!
so about that adventure…
Not too long after arriving on campus, it started to downpour. After trying to wait the storm out in the car for quite some time, we decided to throw all caution to the wind (or inclement weather) and play in the rain! We captured some fun and very sweet moments in the storm.
The stormy skies parted for a few minutes and we went up to the oval for some more pictures. According to The Ohio Union, “As the legend goes, couples able to walk, hand in hand, from the statue of President Thompson to the sidewalk near College Road, without anyone crossing their path, are destined to stay in love forever, or get married, whichever version of the legend you like best.” This tradition is called ” The Long Walk.”
As we began to take pictures at the Oval, on the path of “The Long Walk,” some young students on a field trip and their counselors cheered Katie and Jared on for their engagement!
We also ended up at the stadium rotunda to wrap up our rainy evening and even threw in a couple pictures with Archie!
We rescheduled the second half of our engagement shoot due to the weather and I am so glad that we did. Our evening at the OSU Equine Center was completely lovely! I am incredibly thankful for their permission to do part of Katie and Jared’s engagement session there because it is such an important part of their love story. I was also able to meet Scarlet (the sweet girl that Katie has been training and loving throughout her program) and even Murdoch, a sneaky but adorable orange and white kitty who lives at the barn.
We were completely spoiled with beautiful weather and gorgeous warm light for the evening. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this spring and I hope you enjoy the pictures from Katie and Jared’s engagement photography session!
